The Santa Clara County Open Space Authority, a public agency dedicated to preserving and protecting open space in Santa Clara County, is looking for six community members to volunteer to serve on its Citizens’ Advisory Committee.

This committee provides input to the Open Space Authority’s Board of Directors and staff on various projects. To be eligible for consideration, prospective members must reside or work within the boundaries of the OSA and, if seeking a district representative position, must reside in the district of representation. All positions should possess a general knowledge of and involvement in activities related to the position. District representatives should have experience participating with community groups and organizations within the District of representation.

Vacant positions include representatives for parks, civic organizations, labor, District 2, District 6 and District 7.

Committee members are appointed by the Board to serve two-year terms. There are seven district representatives and nine interest group representatives. District representatives serve areas that coincide with the seven governing board districts. The nine interest groups are agriculture, business, civic organizations, development community, education, environmental/open space, labor, parks and trails.
