U8 Girls

White Lightning 3, Purple Dolphins 2

–With only five players able to make the game, Lightning was down 0-2 at the end of the half. Mid-way in the second half, Lightning got a new lease on the game with a score by Emily Barham with Cristyn Simpson also finding the net shortly thereafter to tie the score. Lightning’s defense held tough with spectacular play from Kiara Santamaria and Kyle Robinson. Jessica Martin placed some well-timed passes, allowing Barham to score once again in the last minute for the game-winner.

U8 Boys

Earthquakes 6, Blue Fireballs 2

–Alexander Vega’s first-half hat trick and teammate Gasper Figueroa’s second-half hat trick led the charge for the Earthquakes – which hold an undefeated 7-0-1 record.

U10 Girls

Dr. Smith’s Red Demons 0, White Lightnings 0

–Goalie Giordan Rojas made a great save during the first half and was assisted numerous times by defenders Ashley McDermott and Alex Rangel in stopping the Lightning attack. Forwards Lauren Block, Briana Velasquez and Jessica Brager each had several breakaways, but could not find the back of the net. During the second half, goalkeeper Alli Unger was busy in the goal box and made several exciting saves. Defender Jennifer Velasquez was key in stopping the Lightnings and helping to protect the Demons’ goal. Sweeper Francesca Comin demonstrated great ball handling with several steals and goal attempts.

U10 Boys

Earthquakes 5, Black Venom 0

–In the first half, Bailey Schipper scored two goals for the Earthquakes with assists from Ivan Vere and Allen Cooper. Zac Monte came around the Black Venom defense to also score. Ivan Vere also scored one more for the Earthquakes before the end of the first half. In the second half, Austin Guerrero scored one final goal for the Earthquakes.

U14 Girls

Rambunctious Red 1, Huskies 2

–Rambunctious Red’s persistance and teamwork paid off in the first half when they fought the ball upfield one more time. Katie Whittaker interrupted a Husky drive and passed to Brandie Rodriguez, who centered to Jennifer Rose, who found the back of the net for a strike. First-half goalie Audra Robinson made five saves. In the second half, the Red prevented any more scoring with consistent defense from goalie Carissa Pierroti (five saves), Majesta Campbell and Samantha Saenz – who broke up a two-on-one break to stop a Huskies’ strike.
