The South Valley Fleurs Garden Club is set to host an annual plant sale between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Apr. 12 at the corner of East Second and Depot streets in Morgan Hill.
The sale will feature hundreds of heirloom tomato, vegetable and herb plants grown by club members. Proceeds of the sale will benefit community gardens, manage seasonal plantings of Morgan Hill’s downtown planters and support local educational programs, according to a press release.
“Heirloom tomatoes as small as a grape to as large as a grapefruit are available in a wide range of colors and flavors,” Plant Sale Chairperson Elaine Alton said. “People come to our sale year after year to see what’s new and interesting.”
Also up for grabs will be a wide selection of annual and perennial ornamental plants. President of Fleurs, Sue Villanueva, estimates there will be more than 30 varieties of heirloom tomato plants, pepper, cucumber, squash and herb seedlings.
Tomato and other vegetable plants will be sold for $3 and prices for ornamentals will vary, depending on size. Customers can make purchases with cash, personal check or credit card, the press release stated.
