The Gilroy girls basketball team maintained its blemish-free league record with a 53-34 win over Pajaro Valley Tuesday at home.
The Mustangs have won three straight, bringing them to .500 on the season (6-6) and a perfect 3-0 in league.

Jimenez, Mustangs cruise past NMC
Andres Jimenez continues to establish himself as one of the area’s top soccer players.
Jimenez scored four goals for the Gilroy boys soccer team’s 9-1 win over North Monterey County at home Tuesday.Â
Jimenez has 17 goals so far this season.
Jimenez drew first blood for the Mustangs, giving them a 1-0 lead early in the 1st half. He would score three more times before the break, helping Gilroy to a 6-0 lead. Jimenez also had an assist in the game.Â
Emmanuel Cruz also had a hat trick in the game, scoring the second goal of the first half and back-to-back goals to kick off the second. Cruz also picked up and assist and has scored eight goals so far this season.
Alejandro Flores netted the two remaining goals for Gilroy, bringing his total to seven this season. He and Luis Urias each had two assists in the game.
Gilroy improves to 6-1-1 on the season, 1-1 in league and will host Salinas at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.Â
Cougars tie with N. Salinas
The Christopher boys soccer team is picking up points any way it can.Â
The Cougars tied for the second time since kicking off league play last week, this time a 2-2 final with the visiting North Salinas.Â
North Salinas took a 2-1 lead into the half, but Christopher was able to even the score.Â
