St. Mary School second grader Emma Barbazette was principal for the day at her school earlier this month. Barbazette, 8, filled in March 4 for principal Krista Hanson. Barbazette observed classrooms, supervised recesses, wrote reports for all of the teachers and e-mailed the county superintendent. Barbazette’s grandparents bought “principal for the day” at St. Mary School’s annual Blue and White Auction in 2010.
