General Plan

The General Plan Advisory Committee, tasked with revamping Gilroy’s vision and guiding principles over the next two decades through the General Plan, will be holding a public workshop April 2. Members of the public who participate will have a chance to share their own ideas about Gilroy’s future with City officials at 6:30 p.m. at Eliot Elementary School.
Topics for discussion vary from future land use decisions, economic development, public facilities and services, parks, open spaces to environmental issues, according to a City press release. The input shared during the workshop will be reviewed by the GPAC, a 25-member body currently updating the General Plan, and will ultimately reach the Planning Commission and City Council.
“The vision will capture Gilroy’s key values and aspirations and illustrate what the city could become in the future,” Public Information Technician Jacqui Carrasco said.
