GILROY – Radiator Doctor and Victoria’s Banditos earned second-half championships Tuesday to move into Championship Series competition next week in Gilroy Community Services Department adult softball play.

Radiator Doctor topped Team FX 23-3 to finish the Co-Rec C League half with a 5-1 record. Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas defeated DALEO 14-0 to finish second with a 4-2 mark.

Victoria’s Banditos completed a 6-0 second half in the Men’s B League with a forfeit victory over B&T Farms. Talamo Foods settled for second at 5-1 with a 7-3 nod over Out 2 Bang.

Victoria’s Banditos and Talamo Foods open the best 2-of-3 B Championship Series Tuesday Aug. 12 at 6 :30 p.m. at Las Animas Park. Radiator Doctor plays Just For Fun at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.

The loss of the use of Christmas Hill Park for the remainder of the week because of the area fire has led to several park and time changes for adult softball.

Thursday’s Men’s EE League triple-header will be played at Gavilan Sports Park. In Men’s DD play, Team HJ-FX will face Family Affair at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Las Animas Park. Men’s BB games will follow at 7:40 (Obata Farms and Interstate Fence) and 8:50 p.m. (Playaz and Little Pizzarena). The Dan Keith Septics Men’s DD game against Me & Julio was moved to Sunday Aug. 10 at 7:20 p.m. at Las Animas.

Henry Maquinalez hit a home run, triple and double to highlight the Radiator decision over Team FX. Jesse Marquez went 4-for-5 for the winners. George Smith went 2-for-3 for Team FX.

Danny Benz hit a home run and three singles to propel the Dutchman’s-Big Kahunas offense. Gina Lopez went 3-for-4 and scored three runs. Kristin Hill and Kurt Nelson each collected two hits for DALEO.

Mike Soto lined a triple and two singles to lead Talamo Foods by Out 2 Bang. Abel Jacquez went 3-for-4 for the winners, Thomas Carrillo 2-for-3 for Out 2 Bang.

Marco Lopez went 4-for-4 and Marshall Silva went 3-for-3 as Lopez Vending Machines completed the B half with a 22-6 decision over Bike Center-DataMate Accounting. Leroy Dozal and Gaby Estrada each mustered three hits for the Bikers.

Lopez Vending Machines earned the first-half BB title and will play either Obata Farms or Little Pizzarena in the Championship Series beginning Tuesday Aug. 12 at 7:40 p.m. at Christmas Hill.
