SALINAS – The Gavilan men’s basketball team lost 74-59 at Hartnell Wednesday night, falling to 1-1 in Coast Conference play.

The Rams were hurt by the duo of Blake Francom and Griffin Brady, who combined for 43 points.

Hartnell (9-12 overall, 1-2 conf.) trailed 38-33 at halftime before coming out strong in the second. Francom had 18 of his 29 points in the second half, including a basket with 15:24 to play to give Hartnell the lead for good.

Gavilan (2-15, 1-1) will be at San Jose City at 3 p.m. Saturday.
