PREP ROUNDUP: CHS volleyball upends GHS

District 5 rallied past 50 Shades of Bay Tree 58-55 on Wednesday to improve to 2-0 atop the nine-team Men’s Spring Basketball League at Solorsano Gym.
Justin Nicholson scored 15 of his game-high 28 points in the second half as District 5 erased a 25-22 halftime deficit.
Tucker Baksa helped the District 5 cause with 11 points. Dallas Jensen paced 50 Shades with 16 points. Kameron Handy connected for 12 points and Eric Nelson drained three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points for Shades. Brian Booth helped Shades with 20 points.
Hard Ninety moved to 2-0 with a 78-40 win over NAYTIBZ.
J.T. Tipton and Frankie Tomasetti each scored 21 points to spark the Hard Ninety offense. Jesse Mejia made four 3-pointers in the second half for the winners. Mark Cisneros came up with 11 points from his point guard spot. Daryl Balabad poured in 14 points for the losers.
Recology is 1-1 after defeating Underdog, 55-43. Donny Gooding and Dolapo Opere each scored 12 points for Recology. Brad Pluckhan came off the bench for eight points in the second half for Recology. Danny Nou struck for 16 points for the Underdogs.
