Anthony Butler poured in 16 points Wednesday as PB4L powered past 50 Shades of Bay Tree 53-39 in Men’s Spring Basketball League action at Solorsano Gymnasium.
Terry Johnson hit three 3-pointers in the second half, finishing with 11 points for PB4L. The win lifted PB4L into a tie for first place at 6-1 with Hard Ninety. The co-leaders will meet at 9 p.m. May 6.
Dallas Jensen scored 10 points for Stubby’s Bar & Grill Shades. PB4L managed a 20-13 lead at the intermission.
District 5 moved into third place at 5-3 with a 65-58 win over AYOOO.
Justin Nicholson hit three 3-pointers on the way to 28 points for District 5. Eric Tollison worked inside for 17 points. District 5 held a 31-27 edge at halftime. Daniel Beckwith paced the balanced AYOOO shooters with 15 points. DaVontea Johnson finished with 14 points, Victor Cancel 11 and Billy Heard 10 for 2-6 AYOOO.
The Underdogs snapped a six-game losing streak by topping the Shredders, 62-52.
Jerrell Morales scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half as the Underdogs broke a 31-31 intermission tie. Redson Abarquez scored his 12 Underdog points in the first half. Paramvir Singh helped the Underdog cause with 12 points.
LaMont Chappell and Kyle Billups each scored 13 points for the 3-4 Shredders.
