Hard Ninety lost 53-47 to District 5 on Wednesday at Solorsano Gymnasium to drop into a tie for first place in the nine-team Men’s Spring Basketball League with a 5-1 record.
Justin Nicholson scored 20 points as District 5, the winter league champion, turned a 22-22 halftime tie into an upset. Drew Pearson scored 14 points, Eric Tollison 12.
Mark Cisneros scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half for Hard Ninety. Frankie Tomasetti scored 18 points for the co-league leaders. PB4L also is 5-1, with District 5 third at 4-2.
Dolapo Opere scored 21 points to lead Recology by NAYTIBS, 62-43. Tony Travis scored 20 points, Donny Gooding 10 for Recology. Van Ryan Mendoza paced NAYTIBS with an 11-point effort.
Victor Cancel scored 15 points and Davontea Johnson scored 13 as AYOOO posted a 56-39 win over the Underdogs. Jerrell Morales and Paramvir Singh each scored 11 Underdog points.
