The victory lifted Silicon Valley into a tie for first place for the second-half title with the Free Agents. Silicon Valley will play the Free Agents on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at Solorsano Gym. The winner will face Morgan Hill Garage Door in the Championship Series beginning Feb. 28 at 8:15 p.m.
Adolfo Tellez made three free throws in the closing seconds of regulation to pull the Warriors into a 62-62 deadlock. Hans Mendonca keyed the Silicon Valley offense with 26 points, including eight markers in the extra play.
Mark Taylan produced five 3-pointers while finishing with 25 Silicon Valley points. Darwin Collins hustled the 13 points, David Schindler 12 for the winners. Tellez finished with 25 points, Vance Lee 18, Ed Lujan 12 and both Robert Silvia and Brad Plinkham 10 for the Warriors.
Ramon Bassi poured in 19 points to lead the Free Agents to a 62-55 win over Shoot It & Boot It. Lamont Chappell scored 15 points, Jason Wolowicz 12 for the losers.
The Stray Dawgs powered by IKON Office Solutions 54-26 behind 19 points from Derek Strong. Jeff Aguirre paced IKON with nine points.
Hard Ninety completed the second half of Men’s D League play with a 6-0 mark to capture the season title. Jiffy Lube earned the second-place award.
Matt Wendt exploded for 31 points Monday to lead the Sonics past Morgan Hill Garage Door 63-56. Jose Gallegos and Marc Connolly each added 16 points.
