The Boyz moved into first place in the Men’s Winter DD League standings Monday with a 5-3 edging of the Slammers at Christmas Hill Park.

While the Boyz advanced to 5-1, both the Slammers and Happy Dog Pizza Company slipped to 4-1.

Joe Ojeda and Pete Lira lined RBI-singles in the fourth inning to pull the Boyz into a 3-3 tie with the Slammers. Ojeda homered in the sixth and Mike Ahmed plated Ray Bautista with the final marker in the same inning.

Ojeda went 3-for-3, Bautista 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly. Fausto Padilla clubbed a two-run triple and scored on a Ray Covarrubias sacrifice fly.

Happy Dog Pizza ended a four-game winning streak with a 9-4 loss to the Loco Boys.

Kurtis Salter’s two-run triple keyed a three-run first for the Loco Boys. Salter finished at 3-for-3 with four RBI. Nathan Mandrell went 3-for-3 and Kyle Kretz scored three runs for the winners. Al Oroszo singled and doubled, Alec Zigar stroked a two-run single for the Happy Dog Pizza offense.

Steve Padilla and Brett Faust each powered four hits to lift Team Hair FX past the G-Men 19-4.

Gilbert Ramirez turned two triples into four RBI and Skip Bloom managed a single, double and triple for Team Hair FX. Rick Duyao and Paul Gutierrez each went 2-for-3 for the G-Men.

Jolene Batrez went 3-for-3 and Henry Huerta lined a three-run home run to help unbeaten J. B. Construction past State Farm Insurance Big Kahunas 20-5 Sunday in Co-Rec Winter C play at Christmas Hill.

Melissa Taku and Kim Lopez each scored three runs for the 4-0 Builders. Valerie Logan drilled three hits, Jerry Johnston two for State Farm Insurance.

Mike Leslie tagged two home runs and two doubles in a 23-7 Feather Haven Mill (4-1) nod over the Spirit of M. H. Buck Johnson powered three hits and Fred Cisneros offered two doubles to the Spirit attack.

Jason Trujillo collected two triples and a single in a four-hit night as Dirty Dozen defeated Rhino Wiring 16-1. Ricky Salinas doubled and homered for the Dozen. Eddie Wilson managed a double and triple for Rhino Wiring.

Don’s Vending is 3-1 in a tie for first place in the Women’s Winter League play after a 13-7 decision over Chaos Monday at Las Animas Park.

Liz Adams and Joleen Carrasco each accounted for four Don’s hits. Melanie Fajardo hit two RBI-singles for Chaos.

Dutchman’s Pizza is 3-1 by blanking the Energizers 15-0. Dora Olivares went 4-for-4 and scored four Pizza runs.

Goldsmith is in third place at 3-2 with a 7-5 victory over Kay’s Kids. D. J. Simpson hit a single, double and triple for the Seeds. Yolanda Lomas scored three Goldsmith runs. Brenda Maquinalez ripped a three-run triple for Kay’s Kids.
