Full slate of title games on tap this week; Garlic Festival
Tournament underway Saturday
Advance Wheels rolled past Blackout Window Tinting 7-3 in the Co-Rec C Softball League’s Championship Game at Las Animas Park on Sunday.
Aaron Tilley and Anthony Lucio hit doubles and Kawika Palacios added a two-run single to aid in an Advance Wheels five-run in first inning.
Danielle Scibuola and Tilley each scored in the Wheels fifth to push the cushion to 7-0.
Blackout battled back for three runs in the seventh frame, keyed by consecutive singles from AJ Martinez, Stacy Schaefer and Anthony Corral.
Chili’s Grill & Bar earned the Co-Rec D League title with a 17-11 win over Chaos.
Eddie Adame and Daniel Garcia hit doubles in the first inning to help Chili’s to a 6-0 lead.
Elias Madrid got a hold of one for a grand slam in the third for the winners.
Paige Thompson took game batting honors with a 4-for-4 showing for Chili’s.
Marissa Moisa went 2-for-4 and scored two runs for Chaos.
Championship Week, with all games at Las Animas Park, continues with Co-Rec B play Tuesday.

JR’s Crew plays the 6:30 winner at 7:40 p.m. for the title.
Wednesday’s play opens at 6:30 p.m. with Shrekky’s Unit facing IFC-Self Made in the Men’s C showdown.
Kalai Kraze and Blackout play at 7:40 p.m. for the Women’s second-place award.
The Battle Brothers and Willis Construction play at 8:50 p.m. for the CC title.
Claddagh Brew Crew and VFW Bingo play at 6:30 Thursday for the Men’s E title.
No Soup 4 You faces Family First at 7:40 p.m. in the EE finale.
DeHaro Mechanical and A-Plus Learning Center play at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a Men’s D second-place tie-breaker.
The Borrachos and 100 Per Cent Beef play for the Men’s DD title at 7:40 p.m.
The Players-HD Auto Glass takes on the 6:30 p.m. game winner for the D second-place award.
— A field of 24 teams will compete this weekend for the title of the 26th Garlic Festival Men’s E Tournament.
Teams from Watsonville, Hollister, San Jose and Santa Clara will join a dozen Gilroy teams for the two-day, double-elimination event.
Games begin at 8:00 a.m. on both days at Christmas Hill and Las Animas Parks.
The finals will be played at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday at Christmas Hill, site of the following week’s Gilroy Garlic Festival.
