Corey’s Girls clinched the first-half title in the Women’s Softball League Wednesday with a 15-8 victory over Kalai Kraze at Christmas Hill Park.
Angelica Garcia went 4-for-4 and Corey Casillas scored three runs as Corey’s Girls reached 5-0 and a two-game lead with one game remaining in the first half. Carissa Kozacek drove in four Kalai Kraze runs with a double and home run. Dora Olivares doubled and singled for Kalai Kraze.
Just Teazin’ reached 3-2 with a 22-2 nod over Wendy’s Girls. Barb Lemberger scored four runs and Stacey Shaeffer and Caroline Martinez each netted four hits for Teazin’. Yvette Grandison doubled and singled, scoring one Wendy’s run.
The Borrachos earned on a one-game lead in the Men’s D League action Wednesday with a 13-9 decision over VFW Vets at Las Animas Park.
Noe DeLaTorre homered and Mitchell Reese provided a triple and two singles as the Borrachos moved to 4-1. Three teams are second at 3-2. The Borrachos play 3-2 Super Air Heating & Cooling Wednesday May 16 at 6:30pm at Las Animas Park. Inked Tattoo and the Players-HD Auto Glass are also 3-2 in the running for the first-half title. Anthony Reddig went 3-for-4 and scored two VFW Vet runs.
John Carrillo and Victor Rodriguez each lined four hits to lead Inked Tattoo past A-Plus Learning Center 15-6. Jason Mesa accounted for three hits for the Learning Center.
Mike Radcliff and Rhino Souza each collected three hits as Players-HD Auto Glass surprised Super Air 16-14 in eight innings. A two-out Aaron Campos RBI-single capped a four-run rally in the seventh as the Players pulled into a 14-14 tie. Bobby Wagner homered and Aaron Tilley scored three runs for Super Air.
Frank Vargas Taxes-Gaeta’s Taqueria claimed the first-half Co-Rec B title Tuesday, reaching 5-0 with a 14-6 victory over JR’s Crew.
Tomas Carrillo went 4-for-5 and Adrianna Osuna scored three runs for the winners. Gabe Ponce and Gil Barry each managed three hits for JR’s Crew.
Sean Subia went 3-for-3 and Angie Lopez provided the RBI for the deciding run as Out 2 Play edged Advanced Wheels 6-5. Aaron Tilley collected three hits for the Wheels.
Hi-Energy Networks moved into a tie for first place in the Co-Rec C League at 4-1 with a 28-5 decision over Team XTreme Tuesday.
Jordan Regallo and Brian Israel each homered in a four-hit showing as Hi-Energy joined the Big Kahunas in first place. Fidel Vargas went 2-for-2 for XTreme.
Danny Pequeno went 4-for-4 with a homer and Mary Alba scored four runs to lead Team Rush past the Big Kahunas 17-7. Vinnie DeLorenzo homered, doubled and singled for the Big Kahunas.
Hi-Energy and the Kahunas play on Monday May 14 at 7:40pm at Christmas Hill for the first-half title.
Kay’s Kids dropped a 10-7 decision to No Glove No Love Tuesday to hold first place in the Co-Rec D standings with a 4-1 record.
