IFC-Self Made moved to 7-1 atop the Co-Rec B Softball League standings Monday at Las Animas Veterans Park by recording two wins.
An 11-run second inning helped IFC-Self Made to a 17-15 victory over the Swingers in the opener. Angel Gamboa plated two runs with a homerun and double. Krisaundra Maciel homered in a 4 for 4 showing for the Swingers (3-5).
IFC-Self Made turned back the St. Louise 5150’s by a 20-5 count as Gamboa homered and Kaylana Mah went 4 for 4. Frankie Gomez lined a two-run single for the 5150’s.
En Tu Cara surprised Anritsu 19-10 to leave both clubs at 5-3. Johnny Bueno hit a homerun, triple and single for En Tu Cara. Andy Alarcon tripled and singled for Anritsu.
Thursday EE
Claddagh Brew Crew reached 6-3 by rolling past the Titans 23-8 at Las Animas. Dave Meacham recorded four hits for the Brew Crew. Justin Mutschler hit a homerun, double and singled for the Titans.
Women’s
The VFW B-2 Bombers stayed one game ahead in the pennant chase Wednesday at Las Animas with a 22-4 decision over the Dirty Diamonds.
Mariah Mastorieni keyed the Bombers (8-1) surge with a homerun, double and three singles. Danielle Minkel added four hits and scored four runs. Ami Perez went 3 for 3 for the Dirty Diamonds.
Corey’s Girls (7-2) outlasted Pops’ Gals 18-10. Lisa Angulo went 5 for 5 and Kristin Castillo highlighted a four-hit showing with s solo home run. Alicia Reese paced Pops’ Gals with three hits.
Ms. BeHavin’ (4-5) topped the Loca Girls 16-9 behind a three-run homer from Kathy Bennett. Dominique Perez secured two hits and scored twice for Loca Girls.
Wednesday E
All of a Sudden clinched at least a share of the regular-season title Wednesday with a 24-13 verdict over the Borrachos.
Eddie Adame homered in a four-hit effort as Sudden reached 9-0 and a three-game lead. George Morales added a three-run homer for the winners. Armando Uribe, Tony Murillo and Sal Flores hit home runs for the Borrachos (5-4).
Feather Haven is 6-3 in second place after defeating HD Auto Glass-Players 20-19.
Ryan Armer hit two home runs, Aaron Parker and Justin McPherson one each for the Haven. Joe Ojeda homered and Mike Radcliff went 4 for 5 for the Players.
A 10-run first inning carried Those Guys past No Soup 4 You 16-12. Johnny Andrade doubled and singled in the Those Guys first frame. Ralph Ortiz garnered three hits and scored two runs for the Soup.
