Corey’s Girls earned a doubleheader sweep in the Women’s League Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park to clinch at least a tie for the regular season title.
Alyssa Baker singled and scored on an Andrea Castaneda double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Corey’s past DF Gals 9-8 in the opener.
Trailing 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Corey’s Girls tallied 10 runs on the way to a 13-9 decision over South County Rockery.
The twinbill sweep left Corey’s Girls at 9-2 with one game to play. South County Rockery is 7-3 with two games to play.
Antoinette Bowe went 4 for 4 with five RBIs to key the DF Gals offense. Brie Fata added three hits and scored two DF runs. Patricia Martinez went 3 for 3 for Corey’s Girls.
Liz Adams hit a single and a two-run double as Corey’s struck for 10 runs in the fourth against Rockery. Maya Valdez, Lisa Angulo and Alyssa Baker each went 3 for 3 for the winners. Jasmine Perez and Cynthia Garza each stroked three hits for South County Rockery.
Julie Berggren was a perfect 6 for 6 to highlight a 28-5 win by Pops’ Gals over Las Frijolitas.
Shawna Snakenburg homered in a 5-for-6 showing and Bria DeLorenzo produced five singles for Pops’ Gals. Giovanna Martin powered a two-run double and Jamie Hall went 2 for 2 for Las Frijolitas.
The Loco Boys extended their winning streak in Wednesday Men’s E play to nine games with a 17-13 nod over the Blacktop Bombers at Las Animas Park.
Ryan Tapia drove in six runs with a home run, triple and two doubles for the Loco Boys (9-1). Daniel Vasquez added four hits to the Loco cause. Reggie Stanley and Michael Stanley roped consecutive home runs for the Bombers.

Medrano Electric Bucket List (7-3) rallied for 11 runs in the final two innings to edge Trevino Brothers Construction 20-16 in a key Thursday E contest.
Dustin Barnes and Mike Hernandez hit consecutive RBI-doubles in the sixth as Medrano scored seven runs for a 16-16 tie. Barnes added an RBI-single in a four-run Bucket seventh. Matt Hernandez scored four List runs. Matt Corona homered for 6-4 Trevino.
Noah also reached 7-3 in first place with a 25-6 nod over Gilroy VFW Vets. John Escoto went 5 for 5 and Abraham Burciaga Sr. and Adrian Burciaga each homered for Noah. Isaac Sepulveda doubled and singled for the Vets.

John DeCarlo Jr. hit a lead-off homer as the Big Kahunas (4-3) trimmed Team Rush 4-1. Jose Melendrez Jr. went 4 for 4 with one RBI for Team Rush (5-3).
The Lost Boyz won two games to clinch the Thursday EE regular-season title at 10-1. Tucker Baksa homered and Jacob DeLeon went 3 for 3 in a 7-3 decision over Gilroy Thunder. Ron Aleshire plated two Thunder runs with a double.
