Hard Ninety rolled to a 2-0 record in the Men’s C Softball League standings Thursday with a 17-1 decision over Team Talamo at Christmas Hill Park.
Art Esquier tripled and scored on a Stevie Martinez single in the Talamo first inning. Hard Ninety responded with a 12-run fourth inning, keyed by two doubles from Ryan Tapia and a triple and single from Elias Madrid. Daniel Garcia went 3 for 3 for the winners.
DS Builders moved to 1-1 with a 10-7 nod over Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors. Kurtis Salter’s two-run single in a six-run fifth inning ignited the Builder offense. Charlie Duffy went 3 for 3 for DS Builders. Mike Gonzalez scored two runs and Bill Souza hit two singles for Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors.
VFW Bingo reached 2-0 in Men’s E action Thursday by stopping Sons of Thunder 17-7 at Christmas Hill Park.
Julio Zabala and Adam Kirkpatrick each went 4 for 4 with a home run for VFW Bingo. Rudy Tellez went 3 for 3 for Sons of Thunder.
No Soup 4 You also hit 2-0 in E play by defeating the Loco Boys 19-3. Manny Juarez and Ralph Ortez each managed three hits for the Soup. Eric Torres went 2 for 2 and scored one Loco Boys run.
The Lost Boyz (1-1) stopped the Gilroy Bombers 24-4 as Bryce Wilson hit two home runs in a 4 for 4 effort. Tucker Baksa and Mario Maciel each went 4 for 4. Eddie DeLeon went 3 for 3 with two RBI for the Loco Boyz. Jesse Barajas and Mike Vasquez each lined a run-scoring single for the Bombers.
Claddagh Brew Crew rallied past Anritsu 13-6 to leave both clubs at 1-1. Mike Lema, Jose Hernandez and Joey Hoiberg each collected three Claddagh hits. Ben Hartshorn went 3 for 3 with two RBI for Anritsu.
The Good, Bad & Ugly moved to 2-0 in Men’s DD Softball League play Friday with a 15-3 victory over Gil’s FX at Las Animas.
Ernie Payan homered and Michael Garcia went 3-for-5 and scored three runs for the winners. Ryan Boyd’s RBI-double helped Gil’s FX to a three-run first frame.
Avila’s Market opened the season with a 16-14 squeaker over Alice Cortez Bail Bonds-Garlic Shoppe. Dru Ornelas went 4 for 5 and Tony Lujan scored four Avila’s runs. Ruben Trujillo hit two home runs and three singles for Cortez-Garlic Shoppe.
Heinzen Manufacturing upset Louie & the Outlaws 26-7 to leave both clubs at 1-1. Daniel Valdez contributed two doubles and two singles for Heinzen. Tyler Price and Bruce Hanna each scored four runs. Leroy Martinez tripled and singled for the Outlaws.
The Heathens advanced to 2-0 in Men’s CC action Friday at Christmas Hill with a 19-6 nod over the Stud Muffins. Joel Lopez powered three hits and scored three runs for the Heathens. Joel Gaeta went 2 for 3 for the Stud Muffins.
Frank Vargas Taxes-Fiesta Auto Insurance moved to 2-0 with a 21-6 victory over AG Construction. Jarrod Hernandez went 3 for 3 and Jose Mendoza added a triple and two singles for the winners. Luis Garcia tripled and doubled for AG Construction.
Justin Theisen doubled and singled to help the Battle Brothers past Cypress Hill Concrete 4-2. Caesar Vasquez scored both Cypress Hill runs.
