The Borrachos rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Victory Outreach 12-11 in a key Men’s Fall DD League game Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Matias Franco stroked a sacrifice fly and Mitchell Reese followed with a two-out RBI-double as the Borrachos reached 3-1. Victory Outreach dropped to 2-2.
Danny Melendez and Tony Murillo each provided three hits for the Borrachos. Nate Tenorio homered in a three-hit showing for Victory Outreach. The Borrachos joined Gilroy VFW Vet atop the seven-team league.
Nick Franco and Ray Bustinza each lined three hits and scored three runs as Franco Imports (3-2) topped Prime Exterminators 17-11. Gonzo Palafox powered a triple and two singles for Prime.
Walton & Sons Masonry (3-2) stopped Louie & the Outlaws 20-13 as Chris Wong and Tim Graves provided home runs. Geoff Graves added four hits to the Masonry cause. Leroy Martinez went 4-for-4 for the Outlaws.
Kalai Kraze (4-1) moved into first place in the Women’s League Wednesday with a 10-7 victory over Station 55 at Christmas Hill Park.
Tracy Nelson and Shelley Ceballos each scored two Kalai Kraze runs. Caroline Martinez and Suzanne Fox each went 2-for-2 for Station 55.
Pops’ Gals upset Corey’s Girls 17-13 behind a seven-run rally in the top of the seventh inning. Shawna Snakenberg’s two-out RBI-single moved the Gals into a 13-12 lead. Maureen Hughes, Stefanie Pinheiro and Suzanne Lomeli followed with RBI-singles. Pinheiro netted four hits. Maya Valdez went 4-for-4 for Corey’s Girls (3-1-1).
AG Construction claimed sole possession of first place in the Men’s D League Wednesday at Las Animas with a 15-7 nod over Feather Haven.
Ryan Dequin hit a home run, double, single and sacrifice fly for 4-1 AG Construction. Aaron Parker homered and Phillip Alosi went 3-for-3 for 3-2 Feather Haven.
Dirty Vatos moved to 3-2 with a 9-8 squeaker over the Battle Brothers. Joe Cano’s homer in the Battle Brothers sixth created an 8-8 tie. Jesse Gonzalez singled in the Dirty seventh and scored on a Marcus Gaeta single. Meme Lopez went 3-for-4 and scored two runs for the winners.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors also reached 3-2 with an 11-1 victory over the Players-HD Auto Glass. Josh Torres went 3-for-3 and John Hagins scored three runs for the Floors. Danny Granado scored the Players run.
