delaying the permits.

The city is saying Gold’s Gym is late with submitting the permits. Gold’s Gym has many members from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and the surrounding areas waiting for a full opening. When should we expect a fully functional gym that we are currently paying for?”

“I am wondering if you had any information on when the Gold’s gym will be open for business at their regular location not their temporary location. We joined around May and paid in full for a year. We were always told three months, three months because they were having problems with the city permit wise. Just wondering if you had any information.”
Red Phone: Dear Waiting Patiently, The Gold’s Gym franchise in Gilroy – currently located in a small corner building in San Ysidro Plaza – is scheduled to open its new location in March or April, said Brad Gwinn, head trainer and sales manager. The new facility will occupy about 26,000 square feet in the former Premium Furniture Outlet building across the street.
A second floor is being added that will include a state-of-the-art movie theater. The gym will include an indoor track, rock climbing area, sauna and hot tub. As part of phase 2, which the club hopes to have completed three to four months after the opening, an in-ground lap pool or olympic pool will be added, bringing the total area to about 30,000 feet, Gwinn said.
Gold’s has received the needed permits and is just waiting for the contractors to begin work, he said. He said he expects construction to begin this month or next and last for about 12 weeks.
