Dear Editor,
My sincere compliments to Principal Robert Bravo and the Gilroy High School administration for allowing students, parents and friends to conduct a religious observance on the high school campus. I hope this is the harbinger of great things at Gilroy High School, allowing the use of school facilities for interested parties to conduct religious ceremonies. And now, perhaps we can even permit the placement of a Nativity scene on the high school lawn or some other appropriate place to proclaim our faith and remind the world of the reason for our celebration.
I suppose it would be expecting too much to ask to have the Pledge of Allegiance returned to the school, as it contains a direct reference to God, but at least the presentation of the Posada is a step in the right direction.
