Romie A. Cortez passed away October 9, 2006 in San Jose, CA after a short illness. He was 74 years old.
Mr. Cortez is survived by his wife Rebecca of Morgan Hill, his children Mary Jean and her husband Aldrine Morante of Morgan Hill and Dexter Cortez of the Philippines, grandfather of Gabriel Morante, brother of Eleanor Sharp of San Jose and Richard Cortez of Willows. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Benito and Anne Cortez, and 4 siblings.
Romie was an Air Force Veteran, worked for IBM , then was a truck owner operator until his retirement. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a Morgan Hill resident for over 50 years.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2006. Vigil Services will be Sunday, October 15, 2006 at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 16, 2006 , 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
