Families participate in the six-mile tour along Coyote Creek Trail Saturday morning during the Freedom Fest Bike Classic.

Local young cyclists will get to brush up on their bicycle skills and participate in other challenging, fun activities at the Second Annual Rotary Club Kids Bikefest Sept. 7 at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center.
The Bikefest, with sponsorship from Morgan Hill-based Specialized Bicycles, will feature challenging activities, bike displays, demonstrations, several raffles throughout the day, music and snacks.
There will be a bike safety course featuring a number of stations, each one featuring a skill to learn that will help make cycling “enjoyable and safe,” according to the Rotary Club website. Everyone who completes the course will get a certificate signed by the mayor and chief of police.
Loaner bikes will be available for those who wish to complete the course but don’t have their own bikes.
All registered participants will get a free T-shirt and water bottle. There is no pre-registration.
Helmets and a Specialized bicycle will be raffled at the Bikefest.
The Bikefest takes place 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Community and Cultural Center is located at 17000 Monterey Rd.
