Edwin Galeanna scored a goal to lead Christopher’s boys soccer team to a 1-0 win at Monterey on Thursday in a Monterey Bay League opener.
Giovanni Troini assisted on the goal.
GIRLS SOCCER
Gilroy 1, Santa Cruz 1 – C.C. Contreras scored in the second half to tie the match and help the Mustangs to a draw against Santa Cruz.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Jewish Community of San Francisco 39, Oakwood 36 – The host Hawks (8-2) let a 12-point lead slip away and fell to the Wolves despite 16 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots from Justin Mortensen.
Sobrato 55, Lynbrook 35 – Bryce Shore had 15 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead the Bulldogs past the Vikings on Wednesday.
Isaiah Hardy had 12 points and 14 rebounds for Sobrato, which got 11 points and 11 rebounds from Karl Mann and seven points and four assists from Kristian Maldia.
