after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Gilroy native Rozene Kretz, 62, died at her home Jan. 27, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Rozene was a very active member of St. Mary’s Church as a Pastoral Care Giver and Eucharistic Minister. Mrs. Kretz was a clerk for Nob Hill Foods for more than 30 years. She has been a Gilroy resident for most her life.
She is survived by her children Rick and his wife Lisa Kretz, of Gilroy, Robert Kretz, of Gilroy, and Rochelle and her husband Tim Gaukel, of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Mrs. Kretz is the grandmother of Nicholas, Nathaniel, Natalie and Bryan Kretz, all of Gilroy, Brandon, Alyssa and Rebeckah Gaukel, all of Chilliwack. She is also survived by her brother Terry and his wife Christine Salustro, of Lodi, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Terry and Louise Salustro.
A Vigil will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home then to St. Mary’s Church for a Funeral Mass at 11. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory would be preferred.
