Ruth M. Habing, 81, passed away at her home in Gilroy on Monday, May 21, 2012. Wife of Bernard Habing of Gilroy. Mother of Kathleen Anderson (Howard) of Glendale, CA, William Habing (Gloria) of Gilroy, Susan Ferreira (Manny) of Gilroy, Cynthia Layton (Dick) of Walton, NY, James Habing (Andrea) of Gilroy and Stephen Habing (Dianne) of Gilroy; grandmother of Tim and Casey Anderson, Mike, Sheila, Ben and Don Habing, Danny Furtado, Katie Wurzel, Amy Neal, Cindy Sweigart, Manny Ferreira MD and Denise Ferreira, Tori Anderson, Alyssa and Andrew Habing and Jason and Dylan Habing; great-grandmother of Ashley Habing, Dakota, Alexis and Chase Morgan, Kaitlin Habing, Mason, Grady and Delaney Furtado, Maggie and Ellie Wurzel, Grace Neal, Ava and Alena Ferreira and Emily Anderson.
 A native of San Francisco, CA. Ruth moved to Gilroy at the age of 14 and has been a resident ever since. She owned and operated Habing Family Funeral Home with her husband from the 1950’s to the 1990’s.Vigil will be Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home with Visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 25, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy followed by a reception.
