Gilroy – After working almost 20 years in private law practice and the high-tech industry, John Cesare has joined non-profit South County Housing Corp. as Chief Financial Officer. That SCH chose now to hire its first CFO “tells me they’re heading in a direction I like – growing,” said Cesare.
“We’re very fortunate to have found someone of John’s caliber to join the South County Housing team,” Executive Director Dennis Lalor said.
During the past five years, SCH has built more than 685 affordable houses and apartments in its service area of south Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties.
Over the next five years, SCH will build at least 1,400 more affordable homes. Cesare’s hiring and the recent filling of other key positions increases SCH’s capacity to move ahead with those plans.
Cesare, 50, earned a B.S. degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.
He then studied law and business and earned a combined Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University.
He holds a Master’s of Laws degree in taxation from New York University’s School of Law.
After six years working as a tax attorney in New York City, Cesare moved to California in 1990 and lives in Willow Glen with his wife and two children.
