Victor Joseph Hernandez Jr. was born July 3 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Victor and Sandra Hernandez of Gilroy. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

Steven Michael Jimenez

Steven Michael Jimenez was born June 11 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Mike Jimenez and Denice Gandaria of Hollister. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

David Ryan Meraz

David Ryan Meraz was born March 13 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Armondo Meraz and Veronica Trujillo of Gilroy. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

Mateo Nicolas Rojas was born June 10 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Carlos and Serena Rojas of Gilroy. He weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce.

Jared Thomas DeWitt

Jared Thomas DeWitt was born May 31 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Jared and Brandy DeWitt of Hollister. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

Quentin Daniel

Quentin Daniel was born May 15 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Oscar Daniel Medrano Jr. and Keri Renee Ragsac of Gilroy. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

HONORS

David Angelo Bridwell

David Angelo Bridwell, a 2001 graduate of the Hollister school system, graduated June 16 from the University of California, Davis, College of Biological Sciences. He received a bachelor’s degree in science in neurobiology, physiology and behavior with a minor in psychology. He graduated with highest honors. David also received the Citation Award for outstanding academic and research achievement. David is the son of Greg Bridwell of Davis and Rosemary Bridwell of Hollister. David plans to work and attend graduate school.

Derrick Fellows

Derrick Fellows of Gilroy earned a place on the dean’s list at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, for the spring quarter 2006. Fellows, son of Lisa and Ron Fellows of Gilroy, is a sophomore studying architecture.

Jessica Hannibal

Jessica Hannibal, a 2002 graduate of San Benito High School, graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay, May 20 with a bachelor’s degree in human communications. She achieved the honors of Cum Laude and distinction within her major. Jessica is the daughter of Andy and Charlene Hannibal of Hollister.

Parijat N. Tanna of Gilroy earned a BA in pyschology from Boston University in May.

MILITARY

Matthew L. Cavitt

Army Pvt. Matthew L. Cavitt has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, and more.

Cavitt is the son of John Cavitt of Fresno and Deborah Martinez of Hollister. He is a 2005 graduate of Muir Charter School in Tahoe.

Krakenberg-McCarthy

Nina Krakenberg and Jeff McCarthy will be married Sept. 2, 2006, in Kings Beach. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dennis and Johanna Krakenberg of San Martin. The groom-to-be is the son of Dwight and Pam McCarthy of Truckee. Both graduated from San Diego State University. The couple plan to reside in San Diego.

Andrade-Chapman

Julie Ann Andrade and Patrick Michael Chapman will be married Aug. 5, 2006. The bride-to-be, daughter of John and Terri Andrade, is a teacher at Independence High School in San Jose. She is a graduate of San Jose State University. The groom-to-be, son of Tina Heidmann and David Chapman, is an engineer at Google in Mountain View. He is also a graduate of San Jose State University.

Marini-Ouellette

Terri Marini and Mike Ouelette were married Feb. 3 in Freedom Hall in Santa Clara. The bride, daughter of Ed and Nancy Marini of Gilroy, is a 2001 graduate of Gilroy High School. The groom is the son of Rick and Susan Ouelette of Florida. Both the bride and the groom are currently in the U.S. Navy. They spent their honeymoon on a cruise to Ensenada and Catalina.

Postle-Henrich

Amy Nichole Wooldridge and Jeramy Henrich will be married July 29, 2006. The bride is the daughter of Curtis and Mary Postle of Hollister. She is a graduate of San Andreas High School and plans to finish ADJ degree in Oregon. The groom is a succesful electrician and an ocean diver who will be employed as a diver in Oregon after the wedding. The couple were engaged November of 2005 in Santa Cruz on the beach. They plan to live in Oregon.

Cook-Campos

Kacey Elizabeth Cook and Robert John Campos will be married June 24, 2007. The bride-to-be, daughter of Jeff and Kathy Cook of Morgan Hill, is a pre-nursing student at San Jose State University. The groom-to-be, son of John and Wendy Campos of Morgan Hill, is a manager at Barnes & Noble Booksellers Cafe in Eastridge Mall and is in the EMT program at Mission College.

Farley-Hull

Cheryl Anne Farley and Maurice Brian Hull will be married Nov. 11, 2006, in San Rafael. The bride-to-be, daughter of Jim and MaryEllen Farley of Gilroy, is a 1997 graduate of Gilroy High School. She earned her BA in English from Sonoma State University in 2002 and her MA in secondary education from the University of Phoenix this year. She is employed by the Town of Windsor. The groom-to-be, son of the late Jeanne and Michael Hull of San Francisco, is a 1999 graduate of Terra Linda High School and is pursuing a degree in psychology. He is employed as a tile setter in San Rafael.

The wedding ceremony will be held at St. Vincent’s Church in San Rafael. The couple plan to spend their honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise. They currently reside in Santa Rosa.
