Kristen Spencer and Eric Lopez announced their engagement Jan. 1, 2007.
Kristen is the daughter of Mark and Patty Spencer. She is a teacher, having graduated from Sonoma State University in 1999 and earned her teaching credential in 2000.
Eric is the son of Cesar Lopez and AnnaMarie Daza. He is a probation counselor, having graduated from Fresno State University in 2005. He is also a freshman football coach at Gilroy High School.
The couple plan a Nov. 24, 2007 wedding at St. Mary Parish in Gilroy with a reception planned at San Juan Oaks Golf Club.

Lariella Marie Gutierrez was born July 26, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital to parents Paul and Sabrina Gutierrez of Morgan Hill. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces.
Annelise Melida Lerma
Annelise Melida Lerma was born July 23, 2007 at Mills Peninsula Hospital to parents Jesse and Maureen Lerma of Redwood City. She weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
Evan Robert Myers
Evan Robert Myers was born Sept. 13, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose to parents Chris and Jennifer Myers. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces.
Romeo Carlos Amescua
Romeo Carlos Amescua was born Sept. 17, 2007 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Cassandra Lopez and Earl Amescua of Hollister. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
HONORS
Elizabeth Guevara
Army National Guard Pfc. Elizabeth R. Guevara has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Sandra Rivas of Hollister and a 2003 graduate of San Andreas High School.
Robert Munoz
Army Pfc. Robert C. Munoz has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.
He is the son of Melody Munoz of Hollister and grandson of Bob Fowler of Morgan Hill.
Celebrating 10 years
The Gilroy Class of 1997 celebrated its 10th reunion at Fortino’s Winery, with an after party at the home of Becky Garcia.
Corey Roth
Corey Roth, a 2007 graduate of Sobrato High School, has been accepted into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., where he plans to study aeronautical science. Roth is the son of Deborah and Dan Roth of Morgan Hill. Embry-Riddle is the world’s largest fully acredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace.
WEDDING
McGinty/Lachky
Thomas McGinty, son of Kevin and Diane McGinty of Gilroy, married Lisa Lachky of St. Louis, Mo. on June 30 at the University of Notre Dame, Ind.
The groom graduated from St. Mary School, Gilroy, Bellarmine College Preparatory, San Jose (1999), and the University of Notre Dame. He earned his master’s from St. Louis University, where he is currently a third year law student. He is employed by Anheuser-Busch.
The bride graduated from the University of Notre Dame, earned her Master of Public Administration degree from St. Louis University and works for a hospital foundation.
The couple honeymooned in Italy. They will make their home in Kirkwood, Mo.
