Amanda DePrima and Michiel Ham are engaged to be married.

Amanda, daughter of Mike and Beth DePrima, is a 2005 graduate of San Benito High School. She is a compliance assistant at Monterey County Bank.

Michiel, son of Mike and Julie Ham, is a 2000 graduate of San Benito High School. He is in customer service at Whole Foods in Monterey.

The couple plans a Nov. 12, 2011 garden wedding at Peachwoods at The Inn at Pasatiempo in Santa Cruz. They reside in Monterey.

Wiegand/Araiza

Leia Wiegand and Jorge Araiza were recently engaged to be married.

Leia, daughter of Kurt and Beneva Wiegand, of Hollister, is a 2003 graduate of San Benito High School. She graduated from California State University, Chico in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She works as IT Buyer for Verizon Wireless in Irvine.

Jorge, son of Juan Francisco and Elsa Araiza, of Temecula, graduated from CSU, Chico in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He works in Orange County’s ESL Program.

Jorge surprised Leia with a marriage proposal when they were out to lunch. After their lunch, he brought her to his aunt’s house, where family and friends were waiting for them to celebrate with an engagement party.

The couple resides in Orange County and are planning a July 2012 wedding in Southern California.

Farris Darawsheh

Air Force Airman Farris M. Darawsheh graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Darawsheh is the son of Cathy Bisordi of San Martin.

Marisa Struzik

Marisa Struzik, of Morgan Hill, and the women of Cal State Fullerton’s Titans Dance Team captured their 10th win at the Universal Dance Association 2011 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando.

Marisa, daughter of Ed and Marsha Struzik of Morgan Hill, is a 2008 graduate of Live Oak High School.
