Corey Roth recently took the first step in his career as an
officer in the United States Navy as he received his commission
from the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. to become an Ensign
in the Navy.

Corey Roth recently took the first step in his career as an officer in the United States Navy as he received his commission from the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. to become an Ensign in the Navy.
Corey graduated from Ann Sobrato High School in 2007. After graduating high school, Corey chose to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition to commissioning, he received a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science.
He has been designated a student naval aviator by the Navy and will report to Pensacola, Fla. to begin aviation preflight indoctrination, the first phase of his training. After about two years, Corey will complete his aviation training and be the pilot of an airplane, such as the F/A-18 Hornet, or helicopter, such as the MH-60 Seahawk, in the U.S. Navy. The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is one of the largest units in the nation with approximately 150 midshipmen and produces many Navy and Marine Corps officers every year.
Andrew Wisneski
Andrew Wisneski has been accepted into the UCSF School of Medicine. Andrew competed against thousands of top students, and passed rigorous academic review and interviews to receive this honor. Andrew will start the medical school in September.
Andrew, son of David and MinMei Wisneski, grew up in Morgan Hill. He started his academic career at Nordstrom Elementary School. Afterward, he attended Martin Murphy Middle School and participated in science fairs and county fairs. He then attended Live Oak High School. Many teachers in Live Oak High School inspired him, telling him “you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.” He was valedictorian of the class 2007 from Live Oak, and went on to Johns Hopkins University and graduated with a 3.93 GPA as a biomedical engineering major while doing research and community activities.
