Melissa Ann Nicholson and Jeffery Peter Aguirre, Jr. were married July 9, 2011.
Melissa, daughter of Bruce and Patty Nicholson, is a 2001 graduate of Gilroy High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Patten University. She is an elementary school teacher.
Jeffery, son of Jeff Aguirre, Sr. and Tami and Mike Pettengil, is a 2000 graduate of Modesto High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Patten University. He is a special education teacher.
The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mary Church followed by a reception at Hecker Pass Winery. The couple honeymooned in Mexico and reside in Gilroy.

Ben Camacho
Army Pvt. Ben C. Camacho has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of basic combat training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons employment, map reading, tactics, military courtesy and justice, physical fitness, first aid skills, and Army history, core values and traditions.
The advanced individual training course is designed to train infantry soldiers to perform reconnaissance operations; employ, fire and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines; locate and neutralize land mines and operate target and sight equipment; operate and maintain communications equipment and radio networks; construct field firing aids for infantry weapons; and perform infantry combat exercises and dismounted battle drills, which includes survival procedures in a nuclear, biological or chemical contaminated area.
Camacho is the son of Ben and Kim Camacho of Gilroy and a 2010 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Kevin Stewart
Pfc. Kevin M. Stewart has graduated U.S. Army Airborne School Fort Benning, Ga. following an extensive three-week parachute training course and five jumps, including one night jump. Kevin is the son of Dave and Robin Stewart of Gilroy.
