Arrests from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Blotter, Dec. 27 through Jan. 8.

Vehicle break-in

-An unknown suspect, Jan. 5 around 12 p.m. at the 1700 block of Shady Lane Drive in Morgan Hill broke into a vehicle. The suspect consumed the food and drink in the vehicle before taking off with a GPS valued at $200. Photographs were taken of the vehicle and three prints were found. The suspect is still at large.

-An unknown suspect, Jan. 8 at 10:50 a.m. in the parking lot of Rucker Elementary School on the 300 block of Santa Clara Street in Gilroy, smashed the window of a vehicle and fled with the victim’s purse. The purse contained about 5 credit cards, $10 cash and personal items. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $400. The suspect is still at large.

Littering

-Allen Silhanek, 20, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. was cited for throwing trash from his vehicle at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Day Road in San Martin.

Possession of methamphetamines

-Michael Lopez, 42 of Gilroy, on Jan. 6 at 1:41 a.m. at the National Nine Inn on Monterey Highway in Gilroy, was arrested for possession of methamphetamines. Lopez was contacted by an officer and was found to be on probation. Following the contact Lopez allowed the officer to search his room at the National Nine. The officer discovered 0.4 grams of methamphetamines and two methamphetamine pipes. Lopez was arrested, transported and booked at the main jail in San Jose.

Vehicle theft

-An unknown suspect, between Jan. 3 and Jan. 4 at the 1300 block of Monterey in Morgan Hill, stole a vehicle from a residence. The owner locked the black 2002 BMW before entering her home for the night and found her car missing the following morning. The car is still missing and the suspect is still at large.

-An unknown suspect, Jan. 5 around 10:30 a.m. at the 1700 block of Copper Hill Place in Morgan Hill stole a vehicle. The victim left the blue 2002 Chevy Avalanche running in the driveway while entering his residence for approximately 15 minutes. When the victim returned, his vehicle was gone. The suspect and vehicle are still at large.

Home break-in

-An unknown suspect, sometime between Jan. 27 and Jan. 4 at the 3300 block of Godfrey Avenue in Gilroy, broke into an unoccupied home for sale. The suspect entered the residence from the garage and proceeded to search the home. The suspect caused $635 in damage and fled the scene empty handed.

-An unknown suspect, sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 9 at the 2500 block of Bridle Path Drive in Gilroy, attempted to break into a home. The suspect was not successful in his/her effort to enter the home, but did cause more than $390 in damage to the door. The suspect is still at large.

Commercial break-in

-An unknown suspect, between Jan. 3 and Jan. 4, at Del Fresh Produce on the 11000 block of Center Avenue in Gilroy, broke into the business. The suspect shut off all power to the business before kicking down the front door; at that time the backup alarm was activated and the suspect fled the scene. The suspect is still at large.

-An unknown suspect, Jan. 6 sometime in the evening at the 600 block of Palm Avenue in Morgan Hill, broke into a private property. The suspect cut the chain link fence and five locks on trailers, making away with approximately $20,000 in gardening equipment. The suspect is still at large.
