the world, Ryan Slater finished 10 over par at the Callaway Junior
World Golf Championships being held at Welk Resort in San Diego,
good for 25th place.
Competing against many of the best 9- and 10-year-old golfers in the world, Ryan Slater finished 10 over par at the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships being held at Welk Resort in San Diego, good for 25th place.
“It was very exciting,” Slater said. “I could have done (better). The putts weren’t falling for me [Thursday], but I did putt well (overall).”
Slater shot 3 over in his first two rounds, making the cut for Thursday’s final round.
Being paired up with kids from England, Indonesia, China, Japan and Mexico, the tournament was an experience few players his age get to be a part of. The 10-year-old Gilroyan plans to travel for the next two weeks with his family before taking part in the U.S. Kids World Golf Championships being held at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
