SOCCER: GHS girls upend CHS in season opener

Crosstown foes Gilroy High and Christopher High opened the 2011-12 girls soccer season against each other Monday with the Mustangs prevailing, 7-0. 

Cynthia Sanchez (3), Taylor Slattery (2), Connie Contreras and Morgan Rodgers scored for the Mustangs.

GHS continues the first week of the winter season Thursday at Santa Teresa, while CHS hosts Soledad on the same day. Both games are slated for 3:30 p.m. starts.
