Lauren Castro and Holly Lam combined on a two-hitter, and Celeste Mendoza went 5-for-5 and drove in two runs to lead Gilroy High’s softball team to a 6-0 road win over rival Christopher on Tuesday.

Mustangs starter Castro was the winning pitcher. The sophomore went four innings, allowing one hit and no walks with three strikeouts, and knocked in a run. Lam, a junior, struck out four.

Gilroy’s Amber Gamboa went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Adrianna Ortega also was 2-for-4 for the Mustangs, who piled up 15 hits.

Gilroy improved to 3-1 in the Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division, while Christopher fell to 0-4.
