About 750 residents lost power for a few hours Thursday night as rain and strong winds swept through the city.

The service’s Web site forecast mostly sunny conditions today with a high near 51. Those conditions will continue throughout the week, according to the Web site.

Wind-torn eucalyptus bark and palm fronds that snagged power lines caused three separate power outages late Thursday night and early Friday morning, according to PG&E spokesman Brian Swanson.

About 530 residents along Hecker Pass Highway west of Murray Avenue lost power for two hours early Friday morning due to the eucalyptus bark. Another 100 customers along Leavesley Road near Swanston Lane fell victim to twirling palm fronds, which also blacked out about 120 customers near Seventh and Carmel streets.
