GILROY – Bobby Garcia clubbed two home runs and began a triple play as unbeaten Talamo Foods topped Out 2 Bang 12-1 in Men’s B League play Tuesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Raul Bueno homered, Ruben Ramirez went 4-for-4 and Art Del Valle and Memo Lopez each went 3-for-3 as Talamo Food smoved to 5-0, clinching a tie for the first-half title.
Garcia began a triple play in the Bang sixth. With the bases loaded, first baseman Garcia fielded a sharp grounder off the bat of Thomas Carrillo. Garcia tagged Ed Lujan coming off first base, kicked first base for the second out and then tossed the ball to catcher Juan Gutierrez for the tag on runner Cameron Bautista.
Bike Center-DataMate Accounting kept within one game of the league lead with a 19-18 edging of Obata Farms. Gary Estrada singled and scored on a David Gaeta single in the bottom of the final inning to account for the deciding run.
Mark Terrill spiced a 4-for-4 night for the Bikers with a three-run home run. Estrada finished with three hits and scored three runs. Jade Garcia went 4-for-5 with a homer, Robert Silvia plated four runs with a double, triple and homer, and Jeff Heck went 4-for-4 for Obata Farms.
Aaron Fuqua and Gino Martinez hit homers as Victoria’s Restaurant Banditos trimmedB&T Farms 27-11. Benny Sanchez and Rodney Sakai each went 4-for-5 and scored four runs for Victoria’s. Dennis Castro hit two doubles for B&T Farms.
Williams Dental Lab remained in a first-place tie in the Women’s B League after an 18-2 nod over the Krazy Koyotes Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Wendy Wilson went 4-for-4 and Rose Martinez scored three runs for the 4-1 Lab. Rosemary Musquez and Vicki Groppe each drilled two hits for Krazy Koyotes.
Michelle Barry delivered a 5-for-5 night as 4-1 Handmade Healthcare defeated Dutchman’s Pizza 19-4. Yvonne Gaspar clubbed a triple and four singles, driving in four Handmade runs. Stephanie Johnston managed two hits for Dutchman’s Pizza.
Just For Fun took a one-game lead into the final week of the Co-Rec C League Tuesday with a 10-7 decision over Team FX at Las Animas Park.
Fun (4-1) erased a 7-5 deficit with a five-run sixth inning. Consecutive hits by Linda Contreras, Joel Garcia, Kathy White and Nick Magee ignited the rally. Eddie Vargas scored three runs and Art Naranjo came off the bench to provide two RBI off a triple and double. Renee Mercer went 3-for-4 for Team FX.
Radiator Doctor slipped to 3-2 with a 13-8 loss to DALEO. Rich Furtado, Will Hill (four RBI) and Jose Melendrez posted three hits each for DALEO. Lorraine Marquez went 2-for-2 and Kiely Sheppard provided two hits and drove in two Radiator Doctor runs.
