GILROY – Frank Vargas Taxes earned the first-half Men’s BB title Monday by edging Farmer’s Insurance-Dee’z Nutz 3-1 at Christmas Hill Park.
Lionel Ortiz went 2-for-3 and scored one run as Vargas Taxes (5-1) finished one game ahead of the 4-2 Nutz.
Self Made reached 2-4 with a 14-6 nod over Team Guerrero (1-5). Willie Gamboa and Brian Collom stroked Self Made home runs. Ruben Ramirez went 3-for-4 for the losers.
Corey’s Girls took a one-game lead in the Women’s League pennant chase Tuesday with a 12-0 win over All 4 Seasons Pet Services. Andrea Castaneda, Liz Adams and Monica Pantoja each went 3-for-3 for Corey’s (4-1).
Ms. BeHaving topped Garza Sisters & Friends 15-0 Wednesday to leave both teams at 3-2 in second place. Grace Gonzalez went 4-for-4 and Michelle MacVicar and Denise Lujan posted three hits each for the winners. Cynthia Garza doubled and singled for the Sisters.
Michelle Klemba and Maureen Hughes each registered three hits to lift All 4 Seasons Pet Services past Goldsmith Seeds 6-2. Yolanda Lomas and Dora Olivares each netted two Seeds hits.
Silicon Valley Concrete moved to 4-1 in second place in the Men’s DD League Tuesday with a 24-1 win over Trevino Brothers Construction.
Rick Gonzalez and AJ Martinez each delivered four hits, while Mitch Martinez and Jose Rodriguez produced home runs for Concrete. Matt Corona went 2-for-3 and scored the Trevino Brothers run.
The Loco Boys (3-2) outlasted No Soup 4 You 15-14 when Elias Madrid hit a two-out solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rich Gomez went 4-for-4 for the Loco Boys. Jason Luna went 4-for-4 and Sam Juarez went 3-for-3 and scored three Soup runs.
The Titans stopped Claddagh Brew Crew 25-18 as David Rose went 4-for-4. Vance Lee and Jim Riemer each added a triple and two singles to the Titans cause. Mike Keith went 4-for-5 for Claddagh.
Omar Benitez tripled and scored on an Xavier Puente sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn (6-0) Dirty Dozen the first-half Men’s CC crown with an 8-7 nod over Los Pistoleros.
Benitez homered and James Lopez doubled and singled for the Dozen. Lupe Lemus went 5-for-5 and Zele Lopez homered for Los Pistoleros.
Blackout Window Tinting (5-1) defeated Walton & Sons Masonry 13-3 as David Meacham went 3-for-4. Geoff Graves went 3-for-4 for Walton & Sons.
Sat Regalado’s RBI-single in the top of the seventh sent Team Wicked past the Players 18-17. Pablo Perez and Toby Reyes each powered four Team Wicked hits. Gary Diaz went 4-for-4, Randy Garcia and Joe Ojeda each 3-for-3 for the Players.
