DEAR EDITOR:

In response to Ms. Walker’s most recent attack on Mr. Scott and his “hapless” students, we the students do not appreciate this categorization. Since we are actually students of Mr. Wayne Scott, we are able to give a more accurate and reasonable account of his teaching abilities.

Mr. Scott has taught us so much more than statistics. He has taught us how to think outside of the box, and to apply our knowledge to real life situations. He has taught us to be aware of our community and to not be afraid to voice our opinions.

After taking into account your bizarre assumptions about our teacher, and our actual experiences with him, we question YOUR knowledge about public school teachers. So before you critic Mr. Scott’s teaching abilities again, ask one of his “hapless” students because we have actually experienced his extraordinary teaching skills firsthand.

A.J. Rai, Gilroy,

on behalf of Mr. Scott’s second period Advanced Placement Statistics Class
