Vandalism

Police arrested a 15-year-old Morgan Hill boy early Monday morning after he allegedly went on a late-night drunken vandalism spree that included painting a swastika on a church property.
About 3 a.m. Monday, Morgan Hill Police responded to a call of a disturbance in the area of Tennant Station, on Tennant Avenue, according to MHPD Sgt. Carson Thomas.
Upon arrival, police found a 15-year-old male near the Safeway gas station, Thomas said. Officers determined the juvenile had consumed alcohol and vandalized several stores in the surrounding area, in addition to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church at 271 W. Edmundson Ave.
The damage allegedly inflicted by the teen included smashed windows in the store fronts of Starbucks and Australian Tanning Co., both at the Vineyard Town Center shopping center at 451 Vineyard Blvd., police said. The teen also painted a swastika on a church sign near the intersection of West Edmundson Avenue and Olympic Drive.
The juvenile was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and hate crimes, and released to his parents, Thomas said.
