GILROY — A teen-ager was arrested after she lost control of her car and crashed into an open field on U.S. 101.
Kathryn Tiffany Flack, 19, was driving her Jetta south on U.S. 101 at about 90 miles per hour about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said, when she ran her vehicle off the roadway just north of San Martin. There, it struck a wire fence and rolled several times before coming to a rest in an open dirt field.
Flack had been drinking alcohol prior to the collision, and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
She was transported by CALSTAR to the San Jose Medical Center with a fractured left forearm and collarbone.
