Gilroy – Bundle up and join the Coyote-Bear Park staff for one of the best meteor showers in the heavens – the geminids. Starting at 11pm Dec. 13 in the Coyote Lake launch area, viewers will get to see up to 60 “shooting stars” per hour at the shower’s midnight peak. See Saturn, the moon and other heavenly bodies through the park’s 10-inch telescope.
Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided. Participants should bring their own flashlight, binoculars, warm clothing and an outdoor chair to relax in. This event is free. A $5 per vehicle entrance fee is charged.
