SAN JOSE – The 11U South County Titans brought home second-place medals from this past weekend’s Nations Baseball September to Remember tournament at PAL Stadium in San Jose.
The Titans were seeded fourth heading into Sunday’s single-elimination round of play.
Down by four runs after three innnings against the No.1-seeded team, the Titans roared back to tie the score at 5-5 in the fifth where it stood at the end of the sixth to send the game into extras.
The Titans plated two runs in their half of the seventh and were able to get out of a two-on, nobody-out jam in the bottom half to hang on for the 7-5 win and a spot in the championship game where they just missed capturing the title.
