Bondsmen rally back to dump Truckers
GILROY – Craig Avila Bail Bonds rallied past Salas Trucking 17-14 to remain in a tie for first place in the Men’s B League Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
The Bondsmen faced a 12-7 deficit after three innings, 13-12 after five before striking for five runs in the sixth frame.
Justin Ventura and Ulric Storey hit home runs as Salas Trucking (1-4) produced an 18-hit attack. Jim Gruber stroked two-run singles in the second and third innings as the Truckers took a five-run lead.
Tomas Carrillo homered as Craig Avila Bail Bonds moved to 4-1. Esco Hernandez, Ruben Ramirez, Rich Rodriquez and Benjie Casarez delivered three hits apiece for the winners.
Juan Gutierrez and Miguel Rivera each went 4-for-5 as Team Talamo improved to 4-1 with a 20-9 decision over Westwood Barbers.
Santos Gutierrez homered and Mike Perera lined three RBI-singles for the co-leaders. Gino Martinez homered, joining Alex Rodriguez with a 3-for-4 effort for Westwood Barbers.
Krazy Koyote stormed past Cosa Nostra 22-4 Tuesday at Gavilan Sports Park to leave both teams at 4-1 atop the Men’s DD League.
Jimmy Hernandez scored five runs and Ray Garcia clubbed a single and two doubles for the winners. Roy Escudero went 3-for-3 and Matias Franco singled and tripled for Cosa Nostra.
Juan Contreras, Clint Miner and Jorge Landeros launched homers to lead Los Chilotes past the Slammers 27-15. Ray Covarrubias drove in three Slammer runs with a single and double.
