Robert ‘The Ghost Guerrero Day

The City of Gilroy will hold a celebration from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday on Fifth Street to honor Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero. The event will feature a real boxing ring, three musical acts, presentations from city officials and a boxing demonstration by the newly crowned champ and his father, Ruben. Entertainment will include the Bombshell Bully’s from 12 to 2 p.m., Mariachi from 2:10 to 3 p.m., J.J. Hawg from 3 to 4:45 p.m. and Mariachi Alma de Mexico from 5 to 6 p.m.

Fine vintages available at Art & Wine Festival

The Gilroy Downtown Business Association is holding its third annual Gilroy Art & Wine Stroll on Saturday featuring 22 businesses paired with 18 regional wine selections from the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley. Enjoy art, live music, food and beverages from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday in Downtown Gilroy. Tickets: $20 prior to event, $25 the day of.

Open house and fly-in at San Martin Airport

The Wings of History Air Museum and San Martin Airport will hold an open house and fly-in from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be free airplane and helicopter rides for kids ages 8-17 and tethered balloon rides. There will be a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Details: 683-2290 or wingsofhistory.org.

Local songwriters showcase works

Songwriter’s Showcase features original live music from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St. Bring your own dinner beginning at 7 p.m.. Organized by local songwriter Tom Hepner, the concert will feature Amanda West, The Coffis Brothers from Ben Lomond and Adriel Berger and The Relief, who mix blues and folk with heart felt lyrics. South Valley Civic Theater opens ‘Curtains’

South Valley Civic Theater presents “Curtains”, the whodunit musical comedy, at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays running Friday through June 11 and at 2:30 p.m. May 22 and June 5 at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, 17090 Monterey St., Morgan Hill.
