Tacos, margaritas and politics
The South County Democratic Club is holding its annual Club FUNraiser from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the home of Susan and Ralph McKuhen at 3225 Dryden Avenue in Gilroy. The gathering will feature tacos, margaritas and keynote speaker Terry Christensen, professor of Political Science at San Jose State University. Invited officials include members of Congress Jerry McNerney and Zoe Lofgren; along with assemblymen Luis Alejo and Bill Monning. The cost is $15 for members; $20 for nonmembers. Volunteer creek cleanup day
The City of Gilroy and the Santa Clara Valley Water District will hold a creek cleanup day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Garbage bags will be supplied as well as some gloves and litter pickers.
