SALINAS – The Gilroy High boys and girls track teams literally weathered the storm Wednesday afternoon, holding off Alisal High School, 72-64 and 75-56, respectively, in a Tri-County Athletic League dual meet.
“It was a lousy, cold day, but I’m glad we got through it,” head coach Jeff Myers said. “It was just nasty yesterday. We just had to get by.”
The wins bring both squads to 4-1 in league dual meets. The Mustangs next dual is with San Benito on April 29 at Garcia-Elder Sports Complex at 5:30 p.m.
“It’s nice to be 4-1 heading into the meet with San Benito,” Myers added.
GHS will participate in the Top 8 track meet at Los Gatos High School on Friday.
