Marks Tractor Service, Goldsmith Seeds, Westwood Barbers win
again in rec leagues
GILROY – Marks Tractor Service remained unbeaten in the Women’s Winter League play Wednesday by scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge M&M’s 7-6 at Christmas Hill Park.
Ana Cid lined a one-out triple in the Marks seventh, scoring on a Leslie Miner single. Pauline Lemberger moved Miner to second. Barb Dequin followed with her third hit of the contest, pulling a single to rightfield.
Lemberger went 4-for-4 and Cid mustered three hits for the 3-0 Tractor. Karen Turnlund went 4-for-4 and Missy Hice added a single and two doubles to the M&M’s offense.
Cheryl Kern went 3-for-3 and scored two runs to pace 3-0 Goldsmith Seeds to an 11-2 nod over Dutchman’s Pizza.
Emily Hernandez hit a two-run single in the first inning as Goldsmith scored five runs. D.J. Simpson finished with three singles and two RBI for the Seeds. Gloria MacVicar went 2-for-3 for Dutchman’s.
Rene Rogers went 3-for-3 to help M. Rizzo Landscaping to an 18-3 decision over Chilicas. Melanie Fajardo and Claudia Alexander each went 3-for-4 for the winners. Marisela Landeros drove in one Chilicas run.
Celeste Soto went 4-for-4 to lead Don’s Vending past Michael’s Mufflers 17-0. Corrine Casillas provided a single and two doubles, scoring three Vendor runs.
Andrew Ornelas hit a two-out RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn 2-0 Westwood Barbers a 13-12 Men’s Winter BB League win over the Enforcers Wednesday at Las Animas Park.
Tomas Carrillo went 5-for-5 for the Barbers, including a one-out double in the seventh to ignite the winning rally. Ray Bautista homered in a 4-for-4 effort and Adam Montarbo and Joey Barnes provided three hits apiece for the Enforcers.
Herman Valderama went 3-for-4 and scored three runs as Deez Nutz topped Obata Farms 21-8. Willie Gamboa Jr. went 2-for-4 and drove in three Nutz runs. Jason Krulee homered and Robert Silvia went 3-for-4 for Obata Farms.
Mark Terrill went 3-for-4 as Bike Center-DataMate Accounting outlasted Pizza N Stuff Red Dogz 13-12. Nick Vatalero hit a single and triple for the Bikers. Raul Bueno went 4-for-5 for the Red Dogz.
