More than 3,000 people attended the second annual Fruit and Veggie Fest Saturday, hosted by the Network for a Healthy California – Bay Area Region Retail Program and Arteaga’s Super Save.

The Bay Area Fruit and Veggie Fest was one of several events taking place throughout the state during the month of May to inspire community members to be Champions for Change for the health of their families.

Locally, residents celebrated with Cinco de Mayo-themed activities, while getting tips they need to make healthy changes. Councilmember Peter Arellano, M.D., also joined the thousands of event participants to help promote healthy and active living for the residents of Gilroy.
